Contribute to improving the health of children, adolescents and mothers in Québec and of CHU employees in the areas of prevention and health promotion, in cooperation with the CHU Sainte-Justine teams, our partners in the health and social services network, Québec’s public health network and the community.

Prevention and health promotion are essential levers for a care trajectory to improve the health of mothers, children, adolescents, CHUSJ employees and the population.

The HPC’s action is the result of:

  • A vision: To act before the disease, in terms of individuals, vulnerable groups in the community and the environments
  • A commitment to the health of CHUSJ staff
  • The integration of prevention and health promotion actions in cooperation with the care teams
  • A partnership and in continuity with the actions in the health network and of community partners

To successfully change things, actions need to be based on knowledge.  The mission of the HPC is founded on the following values and principles:

  • Act early and anticipate diseases
  • In continuity and in a transverse manner
  • Using a global, integrated approach
  • Fairly
  •  In cooperative and transdisciplinary practices
  • Using an approach focused on needs
  • With the families
  • With the community partners
  • Fostering the empowerment of people and communities
